Corporate history

Founder Andreas Gailus, born in 1977, toyed with the idea of Sports Update after the turn of the millennium, tried it out, and eventually secured funding through the Exist Seed program to start this venture, located at the University of Münster.

The goal and idea of Sports Update were quite similar to what the consulting firm Gailus.org does, as it aimed to impart know-how into practical business settings, build teams, and trigger movement towards improvement.

During the Sports Update era, this was still primarily conceived on an individual level, promoting self-competent, health-oriented living. Later on, the focus expanded to encompass the setting and life within an organization. Years as an employed specialist and process consultant brought contact with classic Occupational Health Management (BGM) topics such as absenteeism reports and employee surveys, and in the 2000s, there were also encounters with innovative developments like health workshops and similar initiatives.

Around 2010, Andreas Gailus vividly remembered hearing the name Joseph Beuys as a child and being intrigued and interested.

Many years later, it was themes like Beuys and experiences from projects on movements and momentums that enable changes in settings, fueling the desire for a new venture and a return to shaping offerings. Thus, the idea of gailus.ORG as a consultancy firm was born.

After careful consideration, including questions like “Where should this all lead to?”, the official founding took place on June 30, 2012, marking day 1 of the company. Some old clients from the former employer were still being served.

The most beautiful compliment in our company's history was surely from a client in Bavaria who said, "When I hire Team gailus.org, I know they will go the extra mile."

The goal from day one was to establish a company with both permanent employees and freelancers – why? To have the endurance and ability to accompany an organization with long-term commitment and teamwork, with trust and strong, established relationships.

The most beautiful compliment in our company’s history was surely from a client in Bavaria who said, “When I hire Team gailus.org, I know they will go the extra mile” – heartfelt thanks at this point.

The consulting firm gailus.org has made important decisions with the deep crisis experience in the Corona pandemic and has not only become a consulting agency internally, but also externally, because we want to offer clients, if desired, full service and many additional services so that projects in the HR-related topics can succeed. Too often, projects fail because the small to-dos are not completed.

Gailus.ORG now has over 10 permanent employees and more than 15 freelance colleagues, most of whom have been with us for many years, and we are very happy and proud of that.

The mission has hardly changed since day one: to make a difference, particularly within organizations, hence the abbreviation ‘.org’ in the logo – the focus on the organization is dear to us, as organizations are often seen as organisms, living and maturing. This focus is central and will remain so.
